2021 Kansas Non-Conference Schedule Announced

The 2021-22 Kansas men’s basketball non-conference schedule is now public. The Jayhawks have another strong slate of games outside of Big 12 conference play, including a big-time holiday tournament and the return of the Border War.

Perhaps the biggest game on Kansas’s schedule will come on Dec. 11 when they play host to the Missouri Tigers in the much-anticipated return of the Border War. The two universities agreed to renew their rivalry in 2020, but the game was canceled last season due to the pandemic.

Kansas will open their season with an exhibition matchup against Emporia State on Nov. 3 inside Allen Fieldhouse. They will tip off the regular season in the Champions Classic against Michigan State on Nov. 9 in Madison Square Garden.

The Jayhawks will then take on Tarleton State (Nov. 12) and Stony Brook (Nov. 18) at home before heading to Florida for the ESPN Events Invitational. The tournament, which takes place over the Thanksgiving weekend, will feature three games for the Jayhawks.

Kansas will travel to Boulder, Colo. for another tough test with former Big 12 foe Colorado on Dec. 21, followed by the ever-popular post-holiday game against Harvard on Dec. 29 at Allen Fieldhouse.

Kansas will also travel to play St. John’s on Dec. 2 as part of the Big 12-Big East Battle.

There will be one more non-conference game announced later this summer when the matchups for the SEC-Big 12 Showdown are made public. Kansas is set to host this game in Lawrence, with the most likely opponents being Kentucky, Arkansas, or Alabama. Many believe a Kentucky-Kansas matchup is all but inevitable.
